We had a good turnout for the third race in the Sac series. The course was super fun weaving in and out of the winery. It was definitely fast and flowed nicely! There was a big turnout as this is a crowd favorite, racing and wine, Bam!. Over 400 racers participated. Dennis started us out with one of his best results ever! Taking 7th in the C35’s. Then Charles took to the course in the B 45+ race and had what might be his best result in a B race another 7th. Brigitte was up next in the C 40+ and showed the boys how its done by coming in third and bringing home some wine. Dan and Charles (again) then Raced B 45+ USAC class , with Dan besting Charles by finishing 12th to Charles 18th. I raced at the same time in the open 55+ class bringing home the win and a big sack of wine!
Then I tried to do back to back races lining up with Erik in the 45A’s USAC race. We also had our man Ryan at the front of this race in the Elite men A USAC. Ryan went on to finish 5th against some VERY fast company. Erik unbelievably knocked out 8 identical lap times to finish 14th. I got off to a rough start, my legs didn’t respond at the start and was near the back, then I got cut off and hit the dirt snapping off a pole on the way down! At this point I was DFL! But my legs started coming around and I slowly made my way through the field to finish in 8th.
I am super proud of everyone, these folks have been putting in the work and are seeing the results at the races! Sac #4 is this Sunday and it could get muddy!
